Phil Robertson Suspension, Liberal Intolerance Run a Muck

(Punditcy.com) – Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson was suspended from the reality program following remarks he made in the January issue of GQ magazine where he says homosexuality is a sin along with bestiality and promiscuity.

“His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.  The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely”, the network said in a statement.

Professed liberals have, in their own world, laid claim to being the bearers of tolerance.   It appears to me that spreading the word of God and his belief is just that, expressing his belief.  Attempting a little logic here [please, no liberal heads exploding, hear me out]… wouldn’t it be logical to say that respecting Phil’s belief, regardless of whether you agree or not, would be tolerant?

It is more than ironic that liberal media outlet Time Magazine has made someone their ‘Person of the Year’ someone who has the same views as Phil Robertson.  Pope Francis, who also holds strong beliefs on homosexuality, bestiality and promiscuity has been hailed as influential and noble.

The hypocrisy doesn’t surprise me, because of this — the left is just utilizing the tactic of exploiting whatever, or whoever they can to further their agenda.  It appears to me that they resent the success of the reality show, because the moral views of the family do not fit into the liberal idea of how the world should be.  Numerous attacks have been waged against the Duck Dynasty stars and to no avail.  The show continues to be more popular than ever.  The left is seizing this opportunity to make another run at turning views from the show.  Under the guise of bigotry, hatred and intolerance.

As a country, we must get past this.  America was founded upon the ideal of freedom.  Phil’s freedom to express his beliefs are under attack.  WE as Americans should not and cannot accept this.  There is nothing that says you have to agree with him.  We must come together on this point.  We must accept that we are not going to change Phil’s religious fervor, just as they are not going to change the beliefs of those who watch the show.  If you don’t like his comments, DON’T WATCH THE SHOW!!

I think the explanation Phil gave for his comments says it well for all the fans who enjoy the show,  “We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell.  That’s the Almighty’s job,” he says.  “We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus — whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists.  We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?”
